Overview

Accounting standards continue to evolve, impacting how organisations recognise, measure, and disclose financial information. This full-day workshop provides a practical update on recent changes to accounting standards and emerging developments, with a focus on what they mean in practice for financial reporting, decision-making, and compliance.

The course is designed to help participants confidently interpret new requirements, understand their impact, and apply them appropriately within their organisation. The course covers both IFRS and UK GAAP giving an overview/update in both areas.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Identify recent and forthcoming changes to key accounting standards
• Understand the practical implications for financial statements
• Apply updated requirements using real-world examples
• Exercise professional judgement when dealing with complex or grey areas
• Communicate the impact of changes clearly to stakeholders

Clare Jones

Clare is an experienced accountancy trainer, specialising in IFRS, FRS 102, financial reporting and auditing. Clare has been designing and delivering engaging high quality technical training to local and international audiences for over 20 years. Clare has delivered numerous courses around the world including Australia, Bermuda, Nigeria, Europe and the US. Her technical knowledge and excellent communication and presentation skills maximise learning retention on courses.

Clare qualified with a top 10 accounting practice and she previously led the learning and development department for Baker Tilly International. Clare now specialises in delivering bespoke courses, incorporating both technical and personal development skills, to a variety of clients and supports businesses embrace their talent through successful training of their people.
