Economic crime in the time of covid-19 and beyond – understanding and weathering the perfect storm

Professor Rob McCusker, Transnational Crime Consultant
Rob is a Transnational Crime Consultant, providing strategic and policy advice to international governments and organisations including USAID, the United Nations, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, US Department of State and NATO. Rob is also the Transnational Crime Director at Global Risk Alliance Ltd in London, and both a member of the Global Advisory Board and Partner (Senior Advisor Compliance) at Strategic Swiss Partners in Zurich.
Rob was the former Director of the Centre for Fraud and Financial Crime and Reader in Fraud and Financial Crime at Teesside University and was formerly the Transnational Crime Analyst for the Australian Institute of Criminology (which falls within the Minister for Justice's portfolio). Rob was part of the team that wrote the British Standard on Procurement Fraud Controls (BSI 10501) and is the co-convenor of a forthcoming International Standard (ISO) on anti-fraud controls. Rob has been an expert on economic crime for the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice since 2005 and is currently a consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on terrorist financing and an adviser to a number of Financial Intelligence Units in West Africa on their prospective membership of the Egmont Group.
