Gary Townley, Business Events Manager, Intellectual Property Office
Gary joined the Office in 1982 working originally in Southampton Buildings, London, in the Patents Directorate. He helped in the relocation of the IPO to Newport South Wales, training new staff before becoming head of the Patent Enquiry Unit. Gary joined the Business Outreach and Education team in 1999 and regularly provides Intellectual Property training at workshops, seminars and conferences, and is the current editor of IPInsight, the monthly E-newsletter for the IPO.
Dave Hopkins is a Business Engagement Manager for the Intellectual
Property Office Dave has worked for the IPO for 12 years in a number of key roles. Prior to joining the Office, Dave worked in a broad range of private sector organisations including the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Dave moved to the Business and Outreach Team in 2009 and is primarily responsible for raising awareness of intellectual property amongst UK businesses, with special emphasis on SMEs. He regularly gives talks about Intellectual Property at business exhibitions, workshops and seminars.
