Fraud - Prevention & Detection!
Speaker: Steven Giles, High View Consultants
Wednesday 13 March 2013 - Village Hotel, Cardiff CF14 7EF

Synopsis:

The risk of fraud increases as the economy downturns. This maxim has never been more true than it is today, yet many organisations, managers and business professionals remain largely unaware of the threats - what fraud is, who commits it and why, the true costs, etc. This session provides a forensic analysis of fraud risk and shows how the risk can best be managed by a combination of preventative and detective controls that work in practice. Key features include:

- Financial crime risk management framework
- Analysis of fraud threats - scope, scale, type, perpetrator and cost
- Motives and behavioural red flags
- Responsibilities
- The "Top 10" most effective anti-fraud preventative controls
- Deterrence - how to modify behaviour
- Fraud detection techniques
- Examples of fraud cases
- Fraud Awareness Quiz
